Functional Medicine goes beyond symptom management to understand the underlying drivers of your health challenges. It is safe, effective, and often life-changing—whether you’re looking to optimize your well-being, prevent future illness, or find relief from chronic conditions. By addressing the root causes, we help women regain clarity, energy, balance, and confidence, empowering them to feel like themselves again.
At Tahoe Hormone Therapy, we combine advanced lab testing, hormone therapy, GLP-1 medication management, supplements, peptides, and mind-body strategies to create a fully individualized plan for each patient. Every plan is designed to evolve with your changing body and hormones, ensuring care that adapts to your needs during perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Our goal is to provide a clear, actionable roadmap to help you feel your best now—and for years to come.

Annual Membership
This is where the deep, lasting, transformational work begins.
Our 12-month membership provides regular appointments with your medical provider and coaches (membership dependent) giving you ongoing guidance, support, and accountability. Members also enjoy 24/7 access to our team via the member portal, so you can ask questions, check in, and receive support whenever you need it.
Together, we peel back the layers driving your symptoms and optimize your health through advanced lab testing, personalized hormone and metabolic strategies, and mind-body balance. With continuous, collaborative care and regular accountability check-ins, you’ll feel supported, empowered, and confident as your health evolves over the year.
Functional Medicine is a personalized, science-based approach to healthcare that looks at the root causes of symptoms rather than just treating them. It considers your unique genetics, environment, lifestyle, and hormones to create a plan tailored to your body and goals.
Unlike conventional medicine, which often treats individual symptoms or conditions in isolation, Functional Medicine:
- Examines the connections between body systems
- Uses advanced labs and testing to uncover hidden imbalances
- Focuses on long-term health, prevention, and wellness
- Empowers patients to make informed, sustainable lifestyle changes
At Tahoe Hormone Therapy, we combine conventional medical expertise with Functional Medicine principles to help women in perimenopause and menopause feel balanced, energized, and in control of their health.
At this time, we do not accept insurance. Functional Medicine and individualized care often require time-intensive appointments, personalized lab panels, and highly tailored treatment plans that fall outside the scope of standard insurance coverage.
By operating outside insurance, we can provide:
- Extended, in-depth appointments focused on root causes rather than quick visits
- Personalized, flexible care plans that evolve with your needs
- Direct access to Dr. Katie (MD), Holli Miller (NP), our Health Coach, and Physique Coach
-24/7 portal support and timely follow-ups without restrictions
This model allows us to focus entirely on your health goals and long-term outcomes, rather than insurance limitations, paperwork, or coding restrictions.
No, all appointments are fully virtual. This approach allows Dr. Katie and our team to provide care to women across Nevada, Arizona, Massachusetts, California, and beyond. Virtual visits give you the flexibility to access personalized, high-quality care from the comfort of your home, while still receiving the same thorough evaluation, guidance, and support as an in-person appointment.
Most insurance plans do not allow membership fees to be paid with HSA or FSA funds. However, you may be able to use your HSA/FSA for the Foundational Assessment, labs, supplements, or medications. While we cannot guarantee eligibility, we are happy to provide a superbill to help you submit expenses for possible reimbursement.
While we do offer a low-cost membership option that does not include Coaching, we highly encourage all patients to choose a membership that includes coaching, as we have seen that the expertise and accountability offered by our coaches leads to the most significant health improvements among our members.
Your first Foundational Assessment includes a 90-minute appointment with Dr. Katie and a 60-minute follow-up with our Health Coach. From the time of purchase to your meeting with Dr. Katie, the process typically takes about 6 weeks or more, as patients need to complete labs and intake paperwork prior to the appointment. This preparation ensures we have all the information needed to provide a comprehensive, personalized assessment.
Membership itself is 12 months long, although many women choose to stay on for longer in our lower cost, maintenance membership.
Discovery Call is approximately $35, Foundational Assessment approximately $725, and memberships range from $199-$525/month.
The best time to book is as soon as you’re ready to take control of your health. Early intervention allows us to identify root causes, address imbalances, and create a plan tailored to your goals before symptoms intensify.
While we can review your existing labs, there is typically an additional fee for reviewing extensive prior results. We strongly prefer using our own curated panel, as it ensures the labs are recent, relevant, and comprehensive, giving us the clearest picture of your health. To be considered “recent,” your labs must be less than 90 days old. Using our selected tests allows us to provide accurate, personalized recommendations and avoid gaps or inconsistencies in your evaluation. The current lab panel costs approx $325, and is not included in the price of the Foundational Assessment.
True health transformation takes time, consistency, and personalized care—especially during perimenopause and menopause when hormone levels and health needs can change rapidly. One-off appointments often focus on immediate symptoms, but lasting results require ongoing monitoring, adjustments, and support.
Our membership model allows us to:
- Track your progress over time and adjust your plan as your hormones and lifestyle evolve
- Provide regular access to Dr. Katie (MD), Holli Miller (NP), our Health Coach, and Physique Coach
- Offer 24/7 portal support and accountability check-ins
- Focus on root causes rather than just symptom management
With membership, your care is continuous, coordinated, and proactive, so you don’t just manage symptoms—you optimize your health and vitality for the long term.
Unfortunately, we cannot see patients who are 65 or older or enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid. Because we have not opted into these programs, we are unable to accept patients on Medicare or Medicaid, regardless of age. Our services are focused on women in perimenopause and menopause who have private insurance or are self-pay.
Yes—absolutely. If you are enrolled in our membership, we can fully take over the prescribing and management of hormone therapy and/or GLP medications. We will review your medical history, current treatment plan, and relevant labs to ensure a safe, seamless transition, then tailor your care based on your individual needs and goals.
Yes. You must be physically located in Arizona, Massachusetts, California, or Nevada at the time of your appointments. Because medical licensing is state-specific, we are only able to provide care to patients located in these states during virtual visits.
Yes. Memberships can be canceled with 30 days’ notice, in accordance with the terms outlined in your membership agreement. Please note that any additional costs for services already rendered may still apply.
Yes—there are certain conditions outside our area of expertise. Dr. Katie does not treat chronic infections such as Lyme disease, mold illness, Long COVID, EBV, or similar complex infectious conditions. For patients seeking care for these issues, we recommend finding a qualified practitioner through the Institute for Functional Medicine directory at www.ifm.org.
No. We do not provide primary care, urgent care, or emergency services. Functional Medicine is focused on root cause evaluation, prevention, and long-term health optimization, not acute or emergency care. All patients are required to have a primary care or urgent care/ER provider for any urgent or emergency needs.
Absolutely not! Patients are not required to purchase supplements from us. However, we carefully curate high-quality, evidence-based supplement recommendations as part of your personalized plan, and using our recommended products can help ensure consistency, quality, and effectiveness. Additionally, we pass on a 10% supplement discount to all of our members.
In this on-demand private podcast, Dr. Katie shares exactly how women in perimenopause and menopause can optimize protein intake to support hormone health, build and preserve lean muscle, and feel stronger and more energized- without dieting.
